Pink Aid: Helping Local Women Fight Breast Cancer

In recent years, many breast cancer awareness, research, and support organizations have been established to fight the disease and increase survival rates. In addition to nationally recognized organizations such as Susan G. Komen, The Law Office of Carl Maltese supports the regional initiative Pink Aid.

What Is Pink Aid?

Established in 2010, Pink Aid is a non-profit organization that supports underserved women in Connecticut and Long Island in their fight against breast cancer. They believe that all women deserve to be treated with dignity during such a stressful and difficult time, regardless of their socioeconomic status. Their goal is to help women survive through the provision of emotional and financial support, including screenings and treatment. Pink Aid also assists women and their families with non-medical expenses, including wigs, transportation to and from treatment, household bills, groceries, and babysitting.

What Is The Long Island Luncheon And Fashion Show?

It is an annual charity luncheon and fashion show at Mitchells of Huntington hosted by Pink Aid. Over 300 people participate in the event, which benefits Long Island women who are undergoing treatment for breast cancer. A runway show features clothing designed by a top fashion designer, and attendees can bid on interior design pieces, travel packages, and other exclusive auction items. The highlight of the event is the Celebration of Life Fashion Show, in which survivors walk the runway with the loved ones who supported them during their breast cancer journey.

How Does The Law Office of Carl Maltese Support This Event?

One of our attorneys, Diane Maltese, is passionate about the charitable efforts of Pink Aid. As the daughter of a breast cancer survivor, promoting access to screenings, treatments, and assistance for family concerns is very important to her. She is a proud supporter of the Pink Aid organization and has participated in the annual luncheon for the past five years. Two years ago, she had the honor of walking the runway with her mother during the Celebration of Life Fashion Show.

At The Law Office of Carl Maltese, we’re grateful for the opportunity to support Pink Aid and other local, regional, and national charities that affect the lives of our own families and those of our clients.
