Who Is Alex Maltese?

Alex Maltese is a Suffolk County lawyer who represents personal injury clients in Long Island. He graduated from the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 2001 and began practicing law in 2002. Alex has over a decade of experience and works at The Law Office of Carl Maltese. Our firm is associated with various charitable organizations, like the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Smithtown Children’s Foundation, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and Wounded Warrior Project. Since 2016, Alex has been included on the New York Super Lawyers list for five consecutive years. He also received a Rising Star award from Super Lawyers in 2014 and 2015.

The Super Lawyers Nomination Process

Every year, Super Lawyers invites attorneys from each state in the U.S. to nominate a top lawyer they have observed. The attorneys can list lawyers from their law firm, but this kind of nomination is only valid if the lawyer receives another nomination from an unrelated firm. Lawyers cannot nominate themselves or solicit nominations from their colleagues. Additionally, they can only appoint lawyers from within their state.

Evaluation and Listing Process

Super Lawyers then evaluates each nominee based on their professional achievements and peer recognition. Some of the factors they consider include settlements, professional honors, and working experience, as well as their scholarly lectures and writing. The evaluation process also reviews their professional activity, educational background, community service, and the lawyer’s position within their law firm.

Super Lawyers appraises each nominee according to their area of practice. The candidates with the most points from the nomination and evaluation process serve on a blue-ribbon panel. This panel reviews and rates each lawyer on a scale of one to five. The panelists then group the candidates according to firm size and select 5% of the lawyers listed in every state for inclusion in the Super Lawyers list.

Every attorney featured on the Super Lawyers list is a standard-bearer for competence and professionalism.
